Well.. that will be a problem. Thats the 1st I have heard that he had a velocity problem.
If so... then Purpura did get fleeced.

Last year scouts were saying Jennings LOST velocity.
He had a great year, but, the velocity was way down.
This year we saw he had an elbow problem.
He is back, and the velocity CONTINUES to be 84 topping 87.
No way we can re sign this guy.
Purpura should lose the job for the trade.
He traded away a starting centerfielder and 2 starting pitchers for a guy that has NOT win a game for the Astros.
That kind of move would cost the job for any GM in the majors, lets see what we are going to do.

vega51, tell me why this is the best lineup. I see no runs being scored. I think sometimes people are blind because they dislike a player. 5 inning 3 hits no runs. that is not a good offensive lineup in anybody book

why? Because Berkman needs one or two days off, he is not giving good at bats. Second, Biggio's at bats are waste at bats in my book, same with Ausmsu, why? Because we are not going to win so lets see what Munson and Lamb and Ensberg can do for the future of this team. Same with Scott.

Is ok to lose IF we are devoloping the future in our team, now, IS PITIFUL to lose with old guys in the lineup.
I want Burke to play at 2nd, Everett at SS, Ensberg at 3b, Munson at C, Pence at RF (but should continue at cf and see what scott does).
I want Gutierrez pitching instead of Woody or Jennings.
Jennings must be traded to NY (Mets or Yankees) or any other team in need of a pitcher.
The important thing is to see DEVELOPMENT and not old guys wasting at bats.

Seems like the lineup yesterday had a win in it. Hunter Pence 33 games 16 multi hit games in that span

again, forget about wins, lets see development of hitters. This team is not good enough. And yes, THAT same lineup scored 1 run vs Waingright on Friday, REMEMBER? ?

ACTUALLY, i don't think Ensberg played last night and he has 2 hits today. Lamb did not play last night and has 1 single today.
So, the 2 NEW guys are doing goooooooooooooooooooooood.

This is a good situation to use Berkman as a pinch hitter, althought I would rather see him hit lefty.

Lamb will never be an everyday player. If Burke cant hit in RR what makes you think he can hit up here. He is and will always be a dime a dozen Second Baseman When Berkman was waiting on Baggs he made sure that they found a place in the lineup for him. I did not see Burke do that. thats why he's back at RR struggling

problem with berkman is he can't get fly balls at bats, everything is ground balls.

Until Berkman gets his bat going i would go this way: 1. Ensberg 3b 2. Loretta 2b 3. Pence cf 4. Lee lf 5. Berkman rf 6. Lamb 1b 7. Munson c 8. Everett SS 9. Pitcher Given what we got, that's not a bad lineup.

03, did you see the difference in teh 7th? Imagine Biggio instead of Loretta hitting in that situation. Can you see why this team has lost so much with Biggio? Why Biggio is killing us? This is a better lineup than the one from last night. Also, Berkman was out at second but it was a very good move by him, if that ball is caught then is a double play. Loretta is much better than Biggio and Biggio has NO BUSINESS on playing regular on this team, NO BUSINESS. If he wants to get 3,000 he needs to win at bats, just like the yankees told bernie his last 3 years. Second, if he stays with the team, then he is a bench player, if he gets hot then he plays some games in a row, IF not, to the bench WHERE YOU BELONG.
