someone will get loretta..there was a breakdown of the Free agents and they were kind to all the astros but especially lamb...experts suggest lamb will thrive with 500 ab's..loretta is close to a lifetime average of .300...both are guaranteed a job somewhere...loretta was by far and away the best hitter over the first half and lamb wasnt far behind...w/o them they would have been even lower...berkmans useless azz stunk the place up until the last month ofthe season and by then they were so far back it didnt matter

I can't find it either so I'm hoping it is just a rumor. I can't believe we'd be stupid enough to let Loretta go so we can sign Geoff Blum. Frankly, I think we should be trying to keep BOTH Loretta and Mike Lamb.

well getting lamb the 500 plate appearances he needs may prove to be impossible so i can see them parting ways with him..loretta however is a different deal..if they dump this guy it would be a mistake....why doesnt wade go after pitching and forget about this second baseman search..loretta would be ok there..either way i would want to keep him..even as a part time utility guy..at 2-3 mil per year he is a one of the best bargains around

Maybe Loretta isn't willing to stick around again as a utility player? Perhaps some team is offering him a starting job.
