Maybe his only choice JB.
The yanks can get him to sign for less then the extension and come out ahead.

Thing is, if Boras is his agent then they have to include him in the negotiations per the CBA.

That's not what it says. The way I heard it explained is that a player cannot be forced to negotiate without an advisor. That being said, it looks as though PayRod finally figured he was on the verge of being fracked out of a pile of money and he's the one that contacted Hank Steinbrenner to open negotiations. No one else has the cash to pay him the 30-35 mil his scumbag agent wanted and Borass should have known that before his numb-nutted act.
Now maybe PayRod will get really smart and ditch this piece of sh*t.
Oh and by the way, his new contract is allegedly worth 270 mil over 10 years AND he will have to pay the Yankees around 21 mil for the money that the Rangers were kicking in, so he really didn't get a raise after all!
LMAO at BorASS! ;D

According to the CBA, the agent has to be present during negotiations.

It would be interesting to see how that paragraph of the cba is written. How the word negotiation is defined if at all. Did arod violate the cba by calling the Yanks. Did they violate it by talking to someone without their agent present.
No complaint, no problem. Fire Boras and you will get a complaint.

At least the Rangers now have an extra 4 mil per year to waste on bad players! ;D

At least the Rangers now have an extra 4 mil per year to waste on bad players! ;D The funny thing about the Rangers is they always seem to have hitting but zero pitching. They have a fairly nice size park which I would not consider it to be a premier hitter's haven but they can't seem to get pitchers to work out there.

Actually the ballpark in arlington is a very good hitter's park. The ball flies out of there when it's warm.

Hell, if I had to pitch in 100+ degree weather, I wouldn't be able to pitcdh well there either. From what I have heard, it is a rare day during the summer when the temps are under 100 on the field.
