Which would steroids and HGH favor more, pitchers or hitters? It seems hitters would benefit only from increased strength. Pitchers seem to obtain a different benefit. I mean, a hitter doesn't have to take 3 or 4 days off after going 4 for 4. The strain on a pitcher's arm is immense. Steroids and HGH improve recovery time and healing - a pitcher's arm is always healing. So, I would say the chemicals help pitchers relatively more than hitters - comparing how they would otherwise perform without them. I think a guy like Pettitte would have washed out long ago without them, for example.
On the other hand, I think hitters are taken to seasonal stats that would have clearly been unattainable, Pitchers (like Ron Villone) mainly just get to keep a job.
