Hmmmm, Astrobuddy, are you watching the game? The count was 2 and 1, not 3 and 0. Second, if you take it as a comment to you, then you are not to smart especially if you are not lying and never SAID Garner is a good manager. So, if you NEVER SAY IT, why are you ACCUSING me of talking about you? ? I like what i see from Berkman, Lee and Garner tonight, gooooooooooooooooooooood to see that. Now, this goes DIRECTLY TO YOU Astrobbudy, this will HELP THIS TEAM especially if they sit Biggio. Now, for the record, YOU DID SAY Biggio should play 4 games per week, right? ?? Hmmmmmmmm

I would have left Lidge in to get the save. Wheeler has been terrible lately.

Right, but with a 3 run lead, low part of the lineup up, we need that confidence back. Maybe if it was a 1 run lead Lidge stays.

Vega.. I agree with you that a manager can fire his team up. My problem with Pinella is that he acted like a child. Garner didnt. Garner didnt act like a crazy man getting tossed and wont get a 4 day suspension.
2-0 or 3-0.. Whatever. No outs, men on 2nd and 3rd and most importantly, and you need to follow this because this is the main point... The pitcher wasnt close to the strike zone. In order for the squeeze to work, the batter has to at least make contact. That is very hard when the pitch isnt hittable.

with a 2 and 1 count you KNOW HE WILL TTRY AND THROW A STRIKE to a weak hitter.
I agree with the move, did not work but i agree, actually, i agree BEFORE it happens.
With Biggio hitting 1st, no way i don't try to get that run any way you can.
Ausmus will hit a weak ground ball to 2nd, men on third and second, one out. They walk Lamb to load the bases.
Biggio K's or weak ground ball or pop up. Even worse, double play.
I don't agree with Garner much, but i agree 100 percent there.
Now, you say count does not matter, YES IT DOES.
If the count is 1 and 2 instead of 2 and 1 I DON'T DO IT.
