who said anything about his politics, jb? See you read what you want to read. For the record, i will vote for almost anybody, who has honor and integrity. Bentson had it..Thats what was said...Maybe we should compare him to mr ethics tom delay? Or maybe the honorable senator from idaho looking for some glory hole action in a mens room? Or this f**king nimrod GW who has run this country into the ground...
J edgar hoover said it best.. ' the country can only take so much abuse" Its time for a new beginning and change

That being the case, should I shell out $150.00 for tickets to see Tejada in an Astros uniform or just drive over to the P-Farms in Rosharon to see for a lot cheaper price people of the same ilk as Tejada but in a different uniform?
These guys have been knowingly violating the law profusely for years because of the comfort zone created by the MLB Players Union who in effect created a buffer zone of comfort for these steroid junkies to freely and comfortably operate. At the same time, owners, coaches, scouts and the press looked the other way as long as nobody rocked the boat.
Had it not been for Jose Canseco blowing the lid on this organized crime operation it still would be operating under the comfort of the Players Union. So, don't expect me to climb on some soap box and like Oliver Wendell Holmes scream about their rights. They knowingly brought it on themselves so I don't feel sorry for any of them.

Very well said Hembo. I agree with you 100% on this one. I have wondered how the commissioner at the time, Landis I think, came to his conclusions with the stats Jackson put on the board.

i hate pete rose with a passion, but im also a realist. Its either the same for everyone or none at all. You CANT have the all time hits leader not in the hall unless theres a great reason. If his betting on games is justification enough, well, so be it. We are, however, not going to swallow a load of crap to get the all time HR leader into the hall or a 6 time cy young winner in. If they get in you have to let in the other two(rose/jackson.) 10-15 years from now there will be several guys with around 500-700 hr's. Theres many 300 game winners...only 2 guys with 4,000+ hits...you tell me which record is harder to get... Theres nobody even close to 4000 hits right now

He didn't have to come to the conclusion. Jackson willingly admitted that he accepted $5,000 to take part in the scheme.

Just a little observation. I don't think that you can throw a game hitting .386. That's good hitting. Maybe Joe's conscience got to him a little. I hope it did anyway.

By most accounts 50% of the players either used steriods or hgh during the late 90s and early 00s.
So are we pissed because Tejada, Bonds, palmerio, and Clemens lied or are we pissed because these guys got implicated.
Baseball was dirty during this period and these players did nothing against the rules of the game. Time to move on.

If Tejada is still around by opening day this season - meaning if he's not spending 20 months in a federal prison - don't be surprised if all of those home runs he's supposed to hit for the Astros turn out to be long outfield outs instead of home runs. That will happen when one is forced to get off the juice or in Tejada's case, is scared steroidless after the Congressional investigation.
We likely will have another case of the Richard Hidalgo-itis crash and burn in the makings.

I hope not. I like Tejada and if the federal po-po's do decide to prosecute, he can always go home. Good luck to any fed that goes to the Dominican.

I think Tejada has been off the sauce for a couple of years now. If you look at his power numbers they indeed did come way down when testing became the rule. Actually though he should hit more homers this year than last given the Crawford Boxes effect. At least it says that here in fine print.

It's to the point where I really don't care as long as these a$$h*les are tested from this ppoint onward. That means unannounced and EVERY player from the minors on up. That will be the only way to keep the game clean.

I don't see what the big ruckus is all about. So a couple of crackers got caught using roids. Barry used them, so why can't a cracker?
