Mets 7 years 150 mil...wonder why the astros can find the money to pay a 40 yr old pitcher 20 mil a year but have nothing for the best pitcher in baseball?

Santana wasn't a free agent. When the Twins and the Mets agreed to a trade, the Mets were granted a 72 hr window to sign Santana to an extension so he'd be there beyond 2008.

Hembo, the Astros don't have what it takes to trade for a pitcher like Santana. Of course, we need to remember that we once had this guy and left him unprotected in the Rule 5 draft. We are the reason the Twins had him in the first place.

Another example of Astros letting players go who turn out to be gems!

The way we evaluate talent is the reason we are noted for having one of the worst if not THE worst farm system in baseball.
