Ok, now how's this going to work? Ed Wade is going to be looking over his shoulder a lot with Biggio behind him. I wouldn't trust this jackass as far as I could throw him. Biggio has already shown his stripes as a player by throwing most of the managers he played for under the bus behind the scene, so how is this going to be any different? Draytie must be getting really nervous now that his two Butt-Buddies aren't on the field anymore.

Biggio's not going to be in the front office. He's going to be like Bagwell, showing up at Spring Training, showing up on occasion to help out minor league teams, making token appearances for the team in the community, stuff like that.

I hope you're right. Listening to him on the radio earlier today, it sounds as if he is wanting to take a larger role as soon as his youngest daughter is a couple of years older.

The icons bagwell and Biggio have a lot of pull but if wade is winning, theres nobody with more(outside draytie) The GM is by far and away the most important piece of any organization(including the deadweight owners)Hands down...Even more so than some of the players themselves. There are few owners who actually know what baseball is all about. W/o a GM nothing gets done..no players, salary knowledge(what people are worth)etc..
I seriously doubt drayton will take Biggio or bagwells opinion over Wade...And if Biggio and bagwell had so much pull and were so f**king smart, why didnt they ever get past a first round?(but one time)
what they did do, however, was rape Mcclain for several years worth of salary...

You say the GM has the most pull...but on the other board a guy that seems to know more than most says that Pam gardner has the most say. In fact, that was brought up as one of the biggest problems last year.
That said, that comment was made before Wade came aboard I think. FWIW

My memory says that the Astros got out of the first round of the playoffs twice. Once in 2004 then lost game 7 of the NLCS that year and in 2005 when they finally advanced to the World Series. Don't think we can put getting swept in the World Series on Bagwell's back in 2005. I also don't think Biggio or Bagwells intellegence or lack thereof had anything to do with their inability to hit a ball in earlier playoff series that they had been in.

Only pull that Bags and Bigg should have is the pull on their peckers!

Biggio about as well advise the front office. He and Bagwell have been assistant GM's for years while they were still playing. Bagwell traded for Moises Alou. Bagwell and Biggio BOTH got rid of Mitch Melusky to bring their little playmate, Ausmus, back to town. I agree with getting rid of Melusky for Ausmus but Biggio and Bagwell shouldn't have had any input into it.
