For the 2nd time this year I got to see Patton pitch for CC...and for the 2nd time, he stunk up the joint.
His overall numbers are good, no doubt, but I keep catching him on his worst nights. Tonight he lasted 7 2/3 innings, struck out 5-6, allowed 10+ hits and 5 earned runs. His pitches topped out at 91-92 on the scoreboard, mostly he was around 89-90.
The offense again was dreadful. Self did ok, Varner got a nice double, but there's really not much to watch except for Towles and Ash. Drew Sutton is very good defensively at 3b IMO. Several nice plays both times I've seen him.
Still, a great night at the game. Corpus has a nice field and it's always enjoyable. Stopped at Brewster St. Ice House for some suds pre-game, then got to the park, got our free BP hats (which were really nice, not the thin crap the Astros give out), and watched some kids play ball.

I think that the thing to watch over there is the rotation and now Flores. I agree with you about Ash and Towles, especially the catcher.
