not to put to fine a point on all this felix and scott are both sucking right now...i would rather have king felix potential though..at this point in time

Actually, lets gets some things straight, easy to lie around. First, I was AGAINST Ensberg when he started, remember, i was all for RE SIGNING VINNY CASTILLA, remember?  I am on the record saying i was NOT impressed by him when i saw him play winter league. People ACCUSED ME THEN that Winter League means sh*t and that i could not evaluate a player that way, hmmmmmmm Then, I WAS THE FIRST ONE last year to dish Ensberg, saying he is NOT a power hitter. People like AB gave me numbers from the year before and how good he was and how wrong i was, so, looks like i was not wrong after all about Ensberg. Now, this year i was HOPING for Ensberg to do much better, well, that did not happen. Now, i would like to see him play and see what happens. About Lane, well, he did not really had a chance to play. I think he can hit 25 homers if he gets 500 at bats, 80 rbi's and .240-.250. I always talked about THOSE kind of numbers. I hoped he could hit .270 but he does not hit to right field so i don't see his average better than that. That is the SAME opinion i have on Scott, he will hit for power but no average because he can't go to LF. He K's too much and a lot of ground ball to 2nd. Now, the DIFFERENCE between him and Lane is he walks which is important, BUT NO WAY HE IS A NUMBER 5 HITTER, NO WAY. Actually, on a GOOD team he is a 4th OFer. Now, i am NOT the one that said he was an All Star or future All Star. To say that shows lack of ability to judge a player, sorry. |

Lane cannot in 1000 at bats hit 25 homers. Lane is trash.

Rick White will lead the league in saves before Lane hits 25 home runs in 500 at bats. Lane and Ensberg are both useless garbage and should not be in this organization.

Well, so far 4 in 79 at bats.
That is NOT playing regularly.
So, that is:
Multiply 4 by 6.25, that is 25.
Career:
1116 at batsm 57 homers.
That is over 25 homers per 500 at bats.
So, AB, would you retract of what you said??? Does not make any sense.

Lane had 26 homers in 517 at bats last year.

yes, last year i believe he change TRYING to get more walks and less aggressive.
I don't think he is that kind of hitter, now he is screwed up.
It would be interesting to see him get 500 at bats and see what he can do.
I say, 25 homers, .250 average and 80 rbi's if he hits 6 in the lineup.

No I wont retract... That is stat magic. Fuzzy math. Projections arent real. This is what has gotten Tim P in trouble... Projections.....Lane wasnt hitting AT ALL this year and looked completely lost. You are assuming he would hit 21 more. I dont think he would. He was getting worse not better.
Ensberg hit 36 homers in 526 AB's but that doesnt mean he will do it again.
Lane stunk and it wasnt because he didnt get playing time. Which is your same argument with Chrissy Burke. Burke got playing time before and Burke will get more playing time now.. lets see what he does.

I think Lane could hit 25 hr in 500ab. Even when his average has been in the crapper, he's had decent power.
