Its all about money?  ? Hmmmm, why Pettitte took LESS to play for Astros? Why Clemens pitch for nothing his first year for the astros? ?? They were nice great guys then, now they ONLY care about money or is all about money. |

Actually Pettitte didn't take less to play for Houston. Only $26million of the New York offer was guaranteed, where as all of Houston's $31.5 million was.

yes, but he did not give a chance for yankees to counteroffered, he WANTED to play for Astros and not the yankees.
He signed early that winter.

That offer from New York *was* a counteroffer. Houston was offering more guaranteed money. Sure they say he wanted to 'come home', but money was part of it, just like it was in him going back to New York.

Jeez... I am completely convinced that Vega hates the AStros and anyone but Chris Burke that plays for them.
That or he just takes the other side for the hell of it.

yes, because pettite meant clemens also. I prefer this rotation: 1. Oswalt 2. Pettitte 3. Clemens 4. Woody Williams 5. Hirsh over what we have right now. I'd prefer to have Wandy or Sampson over Woody. |

yes, but with that contrat he is going to be in our rotation for the next 2 years. I would had not signed him, but thats just me, especially on a 2 year deal. AB, why are you using the word hate? ? Come on dude, that is a very ugly word, can you use any other word? ?? come on. |

I use the word hate Vega because you seem to have a more than normal disdain for anything Astro. You are right, maybe I should use another word, but I am not sure which one is appropriate.

Clemens is 1-3, 5.32 era, .284 ba against and a 1.48 whip in 5 games.
Pettitte is 4-6, 3.77 era, .285 ba against and a 1.40 whip in 19 games.

yep, like i said before the year started, i expect BOTH guys to struggle in the AL and have high ERA's, over 4.00.
Clemens was never as good with Yankees than with Astros and he was younger.
Pettitte, when healthy pitched better in Houston than last years with yankees because is EASIER to pitch in the NL than AL why?
AL has better hitters and also DH.
