Vega, last off season you said Ensberg would be very good this year. You called for it.
ON Burke and Lane. How on earth can they get 500-600 at bats when they cant hit. They cant stay in the lineup Vega. How do you not understand that?

but, unlike you, I WAS NOT HIGH ON ENSBERG WHEN HE FIRST started with the Astros, plus, i thought he was going to be good this year, more hoping than really BELIEVING IT, but i was wrong on taht one, but on july he was hitting over .300.

I dont remember back that far Vega and it doesnt matter.
Peavy is a nice young pitching who still has a way to go to be better than Oswalt.
Peavy ERA+ 119 67-50 3.36 ERA
Oswalt ERA+ 140 108-53 3.12 ERA
Quite a difference. Oswalt has had the better career no matter how you slice it. Its really not close. Oswalt has been the more dominant pitcher.

I said that Peavy was going to be better than Oswalt this year, that is a fact, and i said that because in the last few years peavy was better allowing less hits per innings and more K's than oswalt.
The TRUTH is i said PEAVY WAS GOING TO BE BETTER THAN OSWALT THIS YEAR, THAT IS A FACT.
Also, on Ensberg, yes i wanted Ensberg to have a good year, but i am not the one that said that ensberg was better than rolen, even this year you made that statement. Plus, you COMPARED Ensberg to Arod.

I said that i watched some games on tv, winter league games from venezuela and did not like his defense and that i believed he was not going to hit much because he looked bad, pull hitter and did not see much power.
I wanted Vinny because i liked his defense, power and hitting 6th he could drive runs eventough he would not walk much.
then, last year, from the beginning i said that ensberg was NOT a number 4 hitter. Last year he was not even a 5 or 6 hitter, he looked more like a leadoff hitter.
This year i was HOPING for him to rebound but as i said before, i did not see much on Ensberg.
Now, on Burke and Lane is different, i saw Lane as a power guy with good defense, a guy that could be good as a 6th hitter if he could hit .270 with power.
Now, the truth is he has not delievered, but has not been given a real chance this year, really.
RF was Scott's and Lane did not play much on a regular base, hard to hit that way. Same can be said about Burke.

They dont get regular playing time because they cant hit good enough to stay in the lineup.
What are they supposed to do, just keep em in there? Lane stunk bad and didnt give any signs he was going to change. Burke wasnt much better.

Well the defense card has been played to within an inch of its life on this board, and while lane does have pretty good defense, you can not win games by having 5 guys batting .240 .250..I dont give a chit what stats are thrown out it doesnt happen..ever. Im not big on berkman but he has been good on offense for several years (prior to this one) carlos lee and pence were solid..Lamb and loretta rode pine most of the first half so there no telling where the astros would be today if the guys hitting .290 and .300 actually played...
as usual i blame garner..its mind boggling how loretta sat most of the year..it doesnt make sense bruntlett isnt playing...why he pitched white..why ausmus is there...The list is a mile long...People say he plays the guys given to him by the gm...Thats not always true..

Vega.. Burke is playing. I know you want Burke to get every AB. I damn sure wish they would give it to him so it would take your last remaining excuse away. Burke has been giving playing time and he isnt hitting. Burke is a good role player, part time player, bench guy. But Burke hasnt done a damn thing to prove he can hit .280, 20 hrs like you say he can.
You are comparing Burke, 27 years old to a 42 year old man. Just for reference.. Biggio at 27 years old... .287BA, .373OBP, 21HR's, 41DBLs, 5TRP, OPS+130 PLAYING IN THE ASTRODOME. Comparing Burke at 27 to Biggio at 42 is assinine. As you see, Burke is no Biggio and never will be.
Also.... Then dont buy it. You dont buy anyway. You arent their target market Vega. How many times you been to MMP?

Vega.. you are smarter than this. He only gets the time he gets because he doesnt hit well enough to stay in the lineup. He is given time and goes 2-20. He isnt earning it. Can you address that?
See.. if you are a fan of a team it shouldnt matter. Teams have up years and down. PLease come to MMP. I have to meet you.
