I have never really watched a manager make so many line up errors in my entire 40+ years of watching baseball. Garner does stuff that just makes you shake your head and wonder what in the hell he is doing. Not just once or twice where you could make a case for getting a guy some on field time to stay sharp, or some rest, or whatever. He just makes little if any sense.
Having said that I do not watch as much this year as last year and last year not as much as the year before. I do not classify myself as a band wagon fan but one who choses not to watch baseballs equal to the near sighted carpenter who constantly bashes his thumb with a hammer.
We have a team that has talent. We also have a team that has some holes. We also have a team that has to make some long term decisions in the talent that we do have. We know what Lamb, Loretta, Biggio, Moehler, and a few others can do we do not know what the kids can do. So I agree with Vega, the kids should play so we can figure out if we got a bunch of crap, or a couple of good players that can figure into the future. Lord knows this year is toast, why waste the balance.

As i have said, chandler..i didnt just throw some random stuff out there..he walks too many and he doesnt have the magic...if you re read what i said i did give him some deserved props. i was looking at it from a standpoint that he just cant get it done..he gives up the game at the wrong time..if he is kept i would like to see him in a setup man role. I just feel that if they keep him where he is he will continue to blow games...Im pretty sure most here feel the same but to each his own.. i will say this though..im thanfful he will not be relieving for the dodgers when they go to post season

Have you watched him pitch? His stuff is as filthy this year as it was 2, 3 years ago. His walks have gone down from last year, they still don't hit him much, and he strikes out a ton. He's by far our best option at closer this year and next year. For the most part, he's done his job in close situations.
He will, just as will Rivera in NY, Hoffman in SD, KRod in LA, etc. Every closer blows saves.

Lidge isnt a hard sell. The Astros if they had wanted too could have received a TON for him at the trading deadline. There are alot of teams that would love to have him.

Scott is hitting close to 400 since the allstar break and where is he today or yesterday as far as that goes. Riding the pine.
Somebody should really check to see if Garner puts some money on the under portion of the Astros over under number in Vegas.

Garner is simply amazing in how dumb he is when filling out a lineup card. When Scott is hitting, Garner decides to sit him and then whines about lack of run production. Scott has certainly been a better hitter than Lane or Burke.

these platoon situations all over the place have wrecked the lineup. I think its certainly contributed to the downward sprial of this season.

Given the chance to be an everyday player without this platoon nonsense, I think Scott could give us 20-25 homers and 80-85 RBI's and hit around .270-.280. But that won't happen as long as Garner is intent on continuing to use his platoon system.

Wait a minute JB. Hembo already stated that Scott sucks. So we shouldnt play him.
