It'd be nice if Broke Backe could show up in Septmeber and give us a shot of optimism.

Backe pitched 5 innings and I think, gave up 5 hits...The hooks won..I didnt get a chance to read the article, but seems like he said he felt good about it...I hope he makes the full comeback

He wasn't a # 2 starter before the injury. He was a # 4 last year. You also have to realize that Backe was an infielder to start with.

When he was on his game his stuff was filthy. Just look what he did in two octobers. I'd take him as a no.4 starter. At the moment Jennings is pitching like a no.4 minor league starter.

he just isnt that good bro...Unless used at home whats the point in keeping him..This is and was a silly argument/debate..he pitched better on the road last year as opposed to home..This is all a coincidence this year...He has a career era of 5.31 and a whip of 1.46...I dont give a good f**k what people say about that ..THOSE #'S ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO SPIN ANYWHERE(other than maybe this board)
since someone is no doubt going to come in with some BS
wandy 2005 5.53 era/1.46 whip
home(era) 5.57 away 5.47 home (whip) 1.41 away 1.53
2006 5.64 era 1.60 whip
home(era)5.48 away 5.82 home(whip)1.68 away 1.51
so the theory of him being good is BS or that he does better at home is a fluke..these #'s are not that of anything other than a team with no other option(ie astros)

No one said it wasn't a fluke or that they expect it to continue in the future, but it is very much an undeniable fact that so far in THIS year Wandy's been very good at home, for whatever reason.

But Chandler... thats just made up stat stuff from the stat geeks. It isnt real dont ya know. Its an ILLUUUSION.
Here is an example... Arod has 500 homers on the books. But not really. The stat geeks say he has 500, but in reality he has 600. He is so good that he has hit homers that stat geeks cant see and thus arent in the books yet. Like Wandy... he really sucks Pitching at MMP, but only the people that dont look at stats can see it. It you look at stats he looks really good AT HOME, but in reality he is the King of Suckdom.
Understand? Took me a while, but I am reborn and understand baseball, Hemboball.

chandler, people have made it appear as if he is a legit pitcher. Its actually comical to even be having this argument..You know more baseball than that. His record at home is good but so what? Thats great if he can have a roger clemens type deal and just stay home when they travel.. Unfortunately though he has to do the pitching thing on the road sometimes. Its a hard reality but pitchers cant just throw at home. his overall record absolutely sucks so it dimishes anything positive he does, including his home games...how many games has he cost as opposed to won?

There is no what. It's just an interesting fact that's been pointed out. No one's made any wild claims about what it means or tried to say it signifies anything.

We have ONE quality starting pitcher..........Oswalt. The others SUCK. Jennings, Wandy, and Woody have to rank near the bottom of the NL.
