Second, Berkman IS NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE with PUjols.

Berkman is great but Pujols is beyond great, MUCH BETTER NUMBERS AND YOUNGER, PLUS, PLAYS DEFENSE.

Pujols is in a league with ARod, Bonds, Vlad Guerrero. Berkman is in a league just under that one of SUPERSTARTS.

Lets say Berkman is a star, Pujols is a SUPERSTAR and FUTURE Hall of Famer.

BERKMAN WILL NOT BE A HALL OF FAMER, PUJOLS WILL.

Can you SEE the difference??

Coach.. I agree. That may have been harsh. I apologize and I will edit that post. But to come right out and accuse Lance Berkman of being on steriods is, well... Make up your own word.

Vega.. Pujols isnt a HOF'er yet. Man you have alot to learn. I asked you this before and I will ask you again. If Pujols stopped playing right now.. would he be put in the HOF? Sure if Pujols continues on the pace he is on. Pujols isnt in yet my little wierd buddy.

You dont know whether Berkman will make it in or not. Berkman is on pace to have a shot.

as i said ab he isnt even in the top 3 in his own division..lee, pujols and fielder are having better years..I factored in all around play when i say Lee is better..unless of course we dont count defense?(just in everetts case) The stat man know it all says defense is really important too...I have no illusions someone is going to say berkman is every bit as good defensively as derek lee, but that would only work in fantasy land(ie this board)

Nobody ever argued (other than ab) that Berkman was as good as Pujols, but the other two are now having better years..Not sure where Tbone got his stats but at the time i posted it( a few weeks back) berkman didnt rank in the top 10(major league 1st baseman) in most categories...I think at the time it was guys with 250+ ab's? either way he was down the list..now factor in all positions and berkman isnt even close to the offensive force some would like you to believe....its cool though...You guys believe whatever the fck you want to believe..that doesnt make it true in the real world though

I agree. Berkman's problem is his weight. He is carrying too much weight which is causing him problems with his legs and I also believe it is the single reason why he's had a down year this season. That's what multi-year guaranteed contracts do to ballplayers. They get complacent and lose their motivation because they know they are still going to get paid those millions of dollars no matter how bad they stink up the place while they're shoveling in the food in the offseason.

Oh yeah....I think we've got a new nickname for Berkman thanks to JB.

Berkman is a great hitter but is NOT in the same league with Pujols.

One is an All Star player the other is a future HALL OF FAMER.

Hembo... you think Prince Fielder is a better 1st baseman? How about a better ballplayer? Is it the homeruns that dazzles you? Fielder is a power guy having a great season. Lets see where he is in about 5 years. DH'ing in the AL if he is still a starter.

NO, Berkman isnt top 3 this year. But we arent talking about a small sample. Looking at his entire career the class is very small and Berkman and Pujols are in it.

Then, after him you have guys like Berkman, Morneau, Helton, Lee, HOward, Helton.

Now, to put Pujols in same category with any of these guys in an insult.

I base it on the fact that he waddles around like a big duck because of all the excess weight in his ass. If you can't tell he's over-weight, you need to have your eyes examined. You can tell from listening to him that he isn't concerned about staying in shape durng the off-season. I've often seen quotes from management talking about this. He needs to be put on an off-season weight program.
