vega and i see eye to eye on most things except this..i think burke sucks...the one who isnt getting a fair shake is scott You know, I have to agree, Scott is really the one being burned here. He has produced almost every time he gets a chance. He goes on streak of 2 or three games where he is tearing the cover off the ball and then sits for three games. Just doesn't make sense.

dennis2112, it has to do with the club trying to find out about BURKE Cooper and the club actually have a higher opion of Scott than Garner did, maybe something was said between the two or that maybe Garner thought that Scott was soft with all the injuries that he seems to get. Rumor has it that supposedly Scott has issues with his leg all year long and he never has been right. I think Scott will be fine next year in RF, but in my opinion that is a problem as I think that Pence should play right and the Club finds a more complete CF as Pence is not a premier CF on defense considering how big the Astros CF is and when his defense is compared to the rest of the league.

IMAGINE, Loretta struggling because he is not getting enough at bats, well, burke is in worse position.

Loretta's numbers have been going down since July.
Loretta started in 23 of 25 games in July and hit .196/.265/.239. You can't blame 'not getting enough at bats' for his struggles. He started in 22 of 29 games in August and hit .237/.283/.290. Since July 1, he's hit .206 in over 200 plate appearances. You can think he's struggling because of not getting enough at bats, but you'd be wrong.

What position a player plays has NOTHING to do with how he hits. That is a completely lame argument.

Burke has outplayed Loretta since July and has outplayed Biggio all season.

Burke sucks and out playing a 40 year old man shouldnt be the standard.
The Astros have a HUGE hole at 2nd base and Biggio wont be around next season for you guys to blame it on.

lol, biggio is a leadoff hitter, so his main thing is to get on base. Would you be so kind and tell me what is the OBP for Biggio and for Burke? ?//

What does Biggio have to do with Burke and 2008? Like I said before... Comparing Burke to Biggio is silly. Of course Burke's stats are a tad better. But that isnt hard to do. I fail to see your point. Compare Burke to Phillips or Utley or other young 2nd baseman OR how about Biggio at 27 years old.... You want those stats?
Burkes OBP is .309. Is that good in your eyes? Hell NO... It sucks.
Burke plays at 27 like Biggio plays at 41. Thats a shame.
Burke is not a very good player.

What does Biggio's OBP matter Vega. Biggio wont be here next season.
Burke .309 Biggio . 285
Not a heck of alot of difference.
Burkes OBP is only higher because he WALKS MORE.
You want a guy with a career OBP of .322 leading off?
