Will Cecil Cooper have the interim tag removed and be the permanent manager next season. People in the media seem to think that it's a done deal probably due to Bud Selig's influence on Draytie. What do you think?

It may be bacause Cooper is a good baseball man and deserves a shot to manage.

I think he deserves the shot at the full-time job. No manager can be properly evaluated with the type of crap he has to manage right now. He has a team that has checked it in for the season.

This team needs a couple of years , unless Drayton turns them loose and lets the GM do what he wants and gives him the money to do it.

{He has a team that has checked it in for the season.} Not according to Lidge. He said this morning on the radio that "We are still trying to win every game possible for our own pride." What pride? If he had any pride he would not have been a head case for the past 2 seasons. And what about winning for the fans? I guess the fans don't get theirs this year.

If you want to really see pride, take a look at Baby Huey.....er, Lance Berkman over the last three games. This guy makes me sick.

Berkman has been mailing it in all season. I know that a lot of people on this site like him, but I never have believed he is all that everyone thinks he is. He proved earlier this season that he doesn't care about winning, just getting the game over so he can go to the nearest buffet! ;D And don't start with his stats, These mean nothing if they are not produced when it really matters.

Bagwell seldom produced when it counted, but, he never pouted and slouched around like Berkman does. Texiban is right. Berkman mailed in the season from the beginning and only started hitting once the team was practically out of the race. This guy doesn't have the balls to be the team leader.

I can't speak for Texiban, but, he could be referring to the fits he threw when called out on strikes and getting himself ejected and suspended. Then, the whining when Burke was sent down and Pence brought up. We would have clinched last place a long time ago if not for Pence. Purpura was a fool for having him start the season at Round Rock.

Where would you have played him?

Pence was called up before Burke was sent down.
You guys are just out to lunch where Berkman is concerned. He isnt fat, not even close and he isnt a baby. Its been a tough year and I imagine he is very frustrated with the direction of the franchise. Its also silly to even write that he waited until the AStros were out of it before he started hitting. Not only blantantly false which I have posted the stats and shown you, but stupid on its face like he waited to start hitting.

Where would you have played him? I would have started Pence in CF from the beginning because I had enough sense to know that Burke isn't an outfielder, unlike the idiots at the top rung of Astros management.

You know, I am getting really sick of people standing up for a team that doesn't care about the fans or trying to win games. If you want to go that route, take your asses to the Turdless Punchbowl. That is where all the optimists need to be. I have noticed that no one has posted there in a while now. I guess that you have to keep trying to cram your optimistic views down everyone's throat so that you can claim to be a true fan. Look what that has gotten Cub fan for the last 45 years.
