Too bad..another well pitched game gone in record time...this guy would be a 20 game winner somewhere else.... why he signed that long term deal to play with a poor team is beyond me....

Can you not read? 3rd best winning % of all MLB teams since Drayton bought the team.
Braves Yankees Astros
Are the Braves not a good team? They only won 1 WS in all those years with all that talent. The Yankees in the last 7 years have exactly the same amount of WS wins the Astros have with 10 times the payroll.
The Astros are horrible this year, just flat horrible. But they havent been for over a decade.

Why do you always go to the extreme?? No one said the Astros were the best. I damn sure didnt. But when you have no intelligent comeback you do this. The Astros have been a very successful franshise. You cant deny that.

I would rather have one or two WS rings than have the best winning percentage over the last ten years. Give me the Marlins record with two WS rings

Why the hell should we want World Series rings when we have statues of Biggio and Bagwell outside of MMP?? Don't be so greedy. Count your blessings. The Yanks have statues in Yankee Stadium......the difference is that those guys actually won a WS or two.

OK.. Then we disagree. I would rather have a team that has a chance year in and year out than one that wins once a decade and sucks badly the rest of the time.

astrobuddy, you missed that whole point there, a team that won two WS rings and doesn't have a third highest winning percentage which would be worth more. Another thing would be that if that Marlin team was an Astros team it would not have been dismantled and probably would have more than two WS series ring with McLane as the Owner and instead of the Marlins owner who says even with the Ring they lost a ton of money. Why is it a team that has been in the league half the time have twice the WS Rings than the Astros do. Has to be with management sticking with all the Bull Crap Second tier White Players that TPurp and the GM before him did. I am sick of being the Good GUys in the white hats that never win. I want my team to win a couple few championships like the Cowboys do.

oh just so you know I grew in REDNECK country of Conroe in the 50's and 60's so as a white redneck from there I think I can say what I want about these crappy white boys that the GOOD GUYS seem to think can play baseball.

The Astros are worth more.
You cant have it both ways. The only way the Marlins won those 2 WS is because the went out and bought them in each season and then because of the money it cost they had to be dismantled.
I think YOU missed the point.
Even with 2 rings I wouldnt trade places with the Marlins. Not even close.

No, I wouldn't trade places with the Marlins, either. I'd much rather have those Division Champion banners and Wild Card flags than WS titles. LOL LOL

astrobuddy, quit the crack your smoking and look at the 25 man roster on the 2003 WS ring, I just added up the Payroll and if you think that the Marlins in 2003 had to dumb for salary then THANK GOD WE HAVE McLane and his 88 million plus payroll, the 2003 Marlins 25 man squad had a payroll less than 68 Million. Which does prove that money doesn't buy championships but if you build a team and want pay to keep it then your owner sucks. I still would take the TWO WS RINGS AND MCLANE WOULD HAVE KEPT THE TEAM PRETTY MUCH INTACT
