El Dumbo.......Carlos Lee. He is also a lazy a$$h*le. Did you catch him admiring what he thought was a home run tonight? The ball hits the wall in deep left-center and this a$$h*le was dragging his fat ass and ended up with a single. He was nearly thrown out trying to get back to first base. It was an easy double if he had ran instead of jogging to first base admiring where he hit the ball. If this guy can't hustle, I don't care if he can hit. Try to find his fat, lazy ass a new home.

they probably gave him a NO TRADE CLAUSE, the SAME NO TRADE CLAUSE THEY DID NOT WANTED TO GIVE BELTRAN.

What do you expect when a guy is at least 60 pounds overweight and you pay him over $100,000,000? Do you know how many fajitas that can buy? ;D

maybe is just a reflection of a player of the ORGANIZATION. An organization that did not PLAY TO WIN OR DEVELOP, just to WATCH Biggio STRUGGLE like an OLD man at the plate and at second base.
Why give 100 percent when organization does not care to re sign Pettitte, Clemens, Beltran (no trade clause) Kent, and INSTEAD play Biggio.
For some DUMB reason Towles, Burke and Scott are not playing, DUMB.
sO, fo me the DUMBest is the organization and NOT any particular player.

There was a debate on the local radio about whether or not the Astros should play their best players against the Brewers or not since their is a playoff race going on. Where do you weigh in on that?
Myself... I say....If we screw over the Cubs or Cards...that's a good thing.

We should play our best players against teams in the pennant races. It's good sportsmanship. Turn it around the other way and think how you would like it if you were trying to hold off the Cardinals and they were playing a team that ran out a bunch of scrubs, basically giving them the series?

You really need to play your best players against teams still in a playoff race. Just as Chandler says, you wouldn't want to have it go against you some year.

if we are playing the BEST players then why is Biggio playing, Burke is having a better year than Biggio. Then why is Scott NOT PLAYING? ??/ Is not like Biggio is hitting .300 with a .900 OPS, right? ?/////

I do agree that the best players should be on the field every day. It shows that you are interested in winning and playing your hardest. But we are talking about the Astros here. It is interesting that they come out an FINALLY kick the Pirates ass, but then fall flat on their faces against the Brew Crew.

yes, with pirates they played the young guys that WANT TO PLAY, vs the Brew Crew they played the OLD GUYS that are sucking FOR THE WHOLE YEAR. If i am the Cubs i would be pissed to see Biggio STILL PLAYING, hitting second with an OBP under .290. I would be saying, ARE YOU TRYING TO THROW OUT THE GAME? ?///

The answer to that would be YES. I guess that the 'stros think that they will be able to get more draft picks next year!

It is a pity the suits didn't give US, the FANS the same frikkin consideration about "playing the best players" at the beginning of the year. If Pence had been in there from the start, we probably would have been in contention in this suck-a$$ division. But that would have meant a different attitude toward Biggio and Burke. So we got treated to 3K instead of a competitive team.
I used to hate it when we'd play teams with nothing to lose who played rookies who were playing their damnedest to enjoy their cup of coffee. Stealing bases, taking the extra base, reaching back for some mustard. I look at it this way, you are doing the Brewers a FAVOR by playing the veterans. The Cards and Cubs should be pi$$ed at us for doing so. Three or four rookies could make this team harder for the Brewers to beat. They haven't had much trouble beating the "crafty" veterans we've trotted out there all year. I think it is almost "professional courtesy" to have a line-up that gets you 90 loses play against the Brewers so as not to give them a tougher time against our unknown/unscouted rookies.

That's the problem. The suits DON'T care about the fans, all they cared about all season was g**damned Biggio getting his 3000 and putting asses in the seats so Drayties wallet can get even fatter tha it is already. I used to go to several games a year. I don't think that I will be going back until we have a definitive change of philosophy in the management and ownership.

I will never forget what Biggio did to our organization and what this Mickey Mouse organization did with the fans. Yankees would NEVER have a guy like Biggio playing regular baseball for them because they are ALL ABOUT WINNING. You can hate they Yankees, AND BEFORE THIS YEAR I DID, but i am respecting them big time because they are spending money TRYING TO WIN. Astros, NOOOOOOOOOOO, THEY ONLY CARED ABOUT GIVING BIGGIO A CHANCE TO HIT 3,000 HITS. Pettitte and Clemens are NOT USED TO THAT, saw it and left. Good move.
