Well, Woody the Wonderboy did it again last night. Cooper had announced that Woody would pitch last night and the Wonderboy came in and did his usual stellar good job........1/3 of an inning pitched, 5 runs allowed, including a home run. Any chance we had of winnng the game went out the window as soon as Woody the Wonderboy made his jaunt in from the bullpen. If I heard correctly.........and I could be mistaken........I thought I heard Brown or JD say that Woody wanted to go back to St. Louis when his Astros contract is up. Well, let's go ahead and give Woody the Wonderboy to the Cardinals right now. We sure as hell don't need him. Ed Wade should be looking at ways to avoid having to pay him over 6 million to lose games for us next season. The signing of Woody the Wonderboy, along with the trade for Jason Jennings, have been two of the worst personnel moves in club history. Do whatever is necessary to rid us of Woody the Wonderboy. He has sucked all season and only promises to get worse. We can't win with this guy on our roster.

IT is real easy to get rid of him. Just release him. Who gives a sh*t about $6 million. Woody cant be just handed a rotation or bullpen spot. It was a mistake to sign him.
I dont mind at all paying St Louis to pitch him every 5th day.

I can't see Drayton releasing him and then paying off the final year of his contract. Something has to be done to get rid of him.

No buyout in MLB players contracts.
Just release him.

I don't care how we get rid of him as long as he isn't on the team next year.

That was an awful move by an awful GM (a GM defended by a few on this forum).
Instead of re signing Pettitte and Clemens and keeping Hirsh and Buchholz, we got Woody and Jennings, lmao, what a great GM we had in Houston.

The only problem I have with Woody was the amount of money. He's done pretty much what they've expected: eat up innings, be a veteran presence in the rotation, and be a good person to have in the clubhouse (from all reports that I've heard). They weren't expecting a reincarnation of Cy Young. Not every guy on the team has to be a superstar in order to win.

What do you think they expected from a fortysomething pitcher not named Clemens? They hoped he'd teach the kids some, eat some innings (which he did do btw), and keep the team in the game more often than not. That 8-15 record is indicative of the team's failures, not his. Using a pitcher's win/loss record to judge the pitcher is pretty much the stupidest thing you could possibly do. I take that back - judging a pitcher by his save percentage is the stupidest thing you could do.

lmao, so a guy that has blown 1/3 of saves opportunities is stupid, lmao
You forgot to mention the 5.04 ERA plus the nice 34 homers allowed.
And no, the 8 and 15 records SHOWS that nice 5.04 ERA and 34 homers, sorry but is the TRUTH.
Now, if you want to defend Woody, you can dig your own grave because that is really really stupid.
Same with trying to defend a guy that has blown 1/3 of saves opportunities.
Give me the numbers you want, but THOSE 2 PITCHERS have NOT done their jobs.

And Chandler, if you want a guy to teach young guys, then SIGN HIM AS A PITCHING COACH but not as a pitcher.
5.04 ERA is AWFUL.

lmao, so a guy that has blown 1/3 of saves opportunities is stupid, lmao No, the guy that THINKS that Qualls has been better this year ONLY because of the save percentage is stupid (especially considering that Qualls has blown more).
