thats why Cashmen has said on several occasions that the Yankee's want be interested in ARod as it is worth close to 30 Million in money from the Rangers. Though when Arod opts out you can bet that Steinbrenner and the Yanks will be front and center Cashman is trying to trick Arod and Boras though Boras isn't that gullible

i dont think thats a stretch for drayton..hell he paid clemens that...however i hear arod want to play shortstop again..that would rule him coming here as the astros already have the best defensive SS...thats what people here say anyways... ;D Hembo, its a statistical fact that Everett is one of the best SS defensively in the majors but I would gladly switch him out with Arod. The offensive production increase would far out-weight the drop in the defense . Which would not be that big a difference anyways. maybe a few % points and a dozen or so runs over the course of the season. However Arod would almost single-handedly increase our offense by possibly 100 runs. Imagine the protection Lee and Berkman would have in the lineup. I would take those numbers.

He was a good SS, but he wasn't as good as Everett with the glove. What makes us think that? Well, for starters, simply watching the two play is enough, but if that's not enough, there's plenty of statistical evidence to back it up.
'Course, the difference in their offense FAR outweighs the difference in their gloves. You take him in a heartbeat.

Hembo. I can assure you that Everett is a much better defensive shortstop than ARod.

I would still take him if he would get rid of Boras as his agent and his price wasn't so high.

well boringass already is spending his next chunk of change he will no doubt be making off any arod deal..he is looking for about 10 years and 300 million...
having said that i think its reasonable to say barroid will not enjoy the HR record as long as Aaron did..its also not out of the realm of possibilty arod could hit 1000 of them...probably a stretch but still...he has 516 now...i also think this is why barry wants to keep playing..as shallow as he is i think he is looking to tack on another 30 or so that way he can enjoy being king for an additional season...what a prick that guy is

Arod isnt going to get anywhere near 1000 homers. Thats just crazy. Arod is 32 years old now and IF he plays till he is 40 thats only 8 years he would need to average 60 homers per year. He has never hit that many in a season let alone average that. So going by his career average of 37 homers a year he would need to play until he was 46 years old to get to 1000 homers.
It aint happening. He will however break Bonds record if he doesnt start getting hurt, which could happen as he is getting older.

I don't know AB, If Arod played half his games in Minute maid, he could get an average of 60 for the next 6-7 years. He would get fairly close to 1000.
I am begging Uncle Drayton now to pony up the cash and bring Arod to Houston.

I dont think MMP is quite the homerdome some think it is. When you start swinging for the Crawford boxes I think it screws up your swing. PLus... CF eats up alot of balls that would be out of most parks.

Agreed but with the short porch in left, Arod would just swing normal and many balls would be out that would not be in other parks.
