I agree, and you are right Chandler. That doesn't ease my suffering any though. Besides..hasn't Craig always been heralded as "one of the good guys" ? His behavior, especially of late when fielding questions about his performance, hasn't been much in the way of a "good guy" attitude. Smoothing things over is one thing, but this guy is in some serious denial.
I applaud his work with the Sunshine Kids. In fact, I kinda wish he had gone to work for them full time back in April 2006.

It's hard for any person to admit to themselves that they're done. Call it pride, call it whatever, but I'd wager a shiny penny that the people who could just say 'You know what, I suck, I'm walking away now' would be the exception, NOT the rule.

In my opinion, Biggio was at one time probably the best lead off man and second basemen of his generation. Now he is an over the hill washed up has been. He was once my wifes' favorite palyer. I took her to a game and we had FRONT ROW seats just down the first base line from the dugout. I asked him for an autograph for her birthday. He just gave me that stupid smirk and walked off. Brad Ausmus and Billy Spiers walked over and gave her their autographs and quietly told us that he was always a jerk anyway so don't take it personally.
This is exactly the same situation the Lastros find themselves in now. He is basically telling the whole world that he is more important than the team and the fans by insisting that he reach his 3,000 hits. I don't care if he ever gets there or not. I will not go to another Lastros game until he is gone. I said this right after tha afore mentioned incident and it has now been 3+ years since I have been to a game.
Screw Biggio! If you want to be a fan, so be it, but don't expect everyone else to like him just because you do Chandler!

If you want to be a fan, so be it, but don't expect everyone else to like him just because you do Chandler! Why would I want everyone to like him? When did I say that I even like him? I wish he'd retire too.

This goes back to what I said before about Biggio and his awareness of his fan base. He's a microphone away from getting his way. The difference now is that he so damn bad that the Astros have to do something with him.
Chandler, Biggio may be mad but why the hell does he need to tell us about it?

I don't know. I'm not his spokesperson nor his defender. I just don't see the 'whining'.
From what I can tell, he was approached by a reporter and asked a question. Maybe he did seek out an outlet to complain, but I don't see it at all, especially considering he never said he disagreed with the action or was mad at the team or Garner. He owns up to the fact that he's sucking and needs to do better.
Again, maybe I'm wrong and he's manipulating the press to get his way. It's always possible. I just don't see it in these quotes.

Biggio has always gotten his way and now he hasn't. that's why he's telling you he's mad. He also know that if he continues to suck that the bench is his destination and he wants his fans to know that poor ol Craig is trying.

Piss on poor ol Craig. He's making me nauseated to watch him attempt to play.

Guess Garner is more worried about placating his players than putting together a smart lineup.

The problem with this whole story is Biggio is claiming that he needs to start hitting again to justify leading off again. Start hitting how? Like he did last season with a .246 BA and a .306 OBP?
Biggio should not have been in the lead off spot for the last two seasons.

dont know if its a world series contender or not but i know he isnt helping, ab...I dont think they're in contention within their own division but still, Biggio has always had the 'its baseball' attitude..wagner had a terminal case of it and he has infected most of the team with his' it happens' bullsh*t..Listen to any number of these guys and they sound just like craig..lidge, oswalt berkman etc....The guy has GOT to go..no if ands or buts about it.. garner can follow him out the door
