The a-hole also booted another ground ball and played a pop fly into a double. I hope he keeps on getting three hits a game because that means we get rid of him that much quicker.

I'd rather see Purpura come running out to give his official release as soon as he toucches first base.

No, I don't take it personal. Yes, he "HAS BEEN" a great player for the Astros. He is now a HAS BEEN and he needs to realize it and stop expecting them to treat him like he's still in his prime. Bowing out gracefully makes him look like a team guy instead of the whining baby who has been crying about being dropped in the batting order.

I dont think he is screwing anyone. Garner could/should sit him.
No one would retire in the same situation. NO ONE. No one in baseball would expect him to either.

AB, don't try to rationalize Biggio's behavior. Biggio has no buisiness conducting pity parties to his fan base for the sake of playing time and a personal milestone.

While he should retire immediately, if anybody thinks that when he hits 3000 hits, that Uncle Dratie is going to sit him down, is smoking the funny weed. Uncle Dratie only cares about the $$$$. Biggio will still be starting at the end of this season, like it or not. Wait and see.

1st... I dont see the pity party. The fans arent going to Drayton about Biggio. They are all screaming for the team to win.
2nd.... the chase for 3000 isnt making Drayton any money. Do you guys really think that people are going to MMP to see Biggio>? That will only matter when he gets close to the 3000 mark. There is no chase to watch.

If Drayton really wanted to win instead of lining his pockets, he would have gone all out to keep Jeff kent and let Biggio walk. Instead, Biggio pouted about playing left field.........which he sucked at.......and Draytie dumped Kent and put little Craigie back at second base. We're still paying for that.

The Astros didnt dump Kent. They made Kent an offer, which he accepted, but then changed his mind and took the late LA deal. That was also 3 years ago.
You guys need to get off the Drayton is a tightwad thing. He is spending and has spent alot of money. He has shown he isnt cheap.

YOU need to go back and pay attention to what Drayton has done over the last few years. He got rid of Darryl Kile, Mike Hampton, and Carl Everett ALL three to dump payroll. He got rid of Billy Wagner because Wagner had the guts to tell the truth about the old miser. What did we get for Wagner...basically nothing. (Yeah, I know we probably wouldn't have signed Pettitte and Clemens without getting rid of Wagner.)
