According to ESPN and the Chron.
Supposedly the package includes Scott, Albers, Patton, Sarfate, and 3b Constanzo (obtained in the Bourn deal with Philly).

I hate to see Patton go. Looks like the lineup, unless they trade wigginton is: 1. Bourn cf 2. Matsui 2b 3. Berkman 1b 4. Lee lf 5. Tejada ss 6. Scott rf 7. Wigginton 3b 8. Towels c 9. pitcher Now, we have NO pitching. 1. Oswalt 2. Wandy? 3. Woody? 4. Backe? 5. Who the hell we have here? ??

Scott was included in the trade Vega.
Durning his press conference Ed Wade gave this as the Astros 2008 lineup 1. Bourn CF 2. Matsui 2B 3. Tejada SS 4. Berkman 1B 5. Lee LF 6. Pence RF 7. Wigginton 3B 8. Towles C

Now, we have NO pitching. 1. Oswalt 2. Wandy? 3. Woody? 4. Backe? 5. Who the hell we have here? ?? I'm guessing we look at Mark Prior if, as expected, he's non-tendered. Matt Clement might be another option. I'm guessing Burke won't bring back anything more than a middle reliver. I doubt you could package him with Everrett for anything more than a fifth starter.

Why does Everett's defense not make him decent trade bait?

I think Astros need to go after Jennings and/or Lieber.
With this offense, we don't need great pitching, just ok pitching.
With those 2, the rotation could be:
1. Oswalt 2. Jennings 3. Lieber 4. Wandy 5. Woody/Backe

Why does Everett's defense not make him decent trade bait? I have a feeling that he is damaged goods. Either his leg hasn't healed correctly or his back is acting up. Why else wouldn't you keep him for a late inning defensive replacement?

Well, I do agree that he's probably damaged goods, but I can't see them keeping a late inning defensive replacement around at over $3M per season, which is what he'd get through arbitration.
When Wade said he's likely be non-tendered, that pretty much killed his trade value.

With AE's leg injury, he's not even valuable as a pinch runner anymore.

Losing Patton, Sarfate...that hurts man, ( I still have nightmares about how we dealt Halama and Garcia in a deal to get that lying, disloyal, p*ssy-whipped, sack of sh*t Unit for a little over ONE MONTH) but you get a player like Tejada, you're going to have to give up a lot. Word is that Tejada is an excellent teammate and will fit in well in Houston.

A few names I'd like the Astros to check in on to fill out the 08 rotation: Mark Prior - likely to be non-tendered by the Cubs (maybe the Cubs would take Burke for him) Matt Clement - was a decent NL pitcher prior to injuries and the AL Carl Pavano - see above Jon Lieber - not excited about this guy much, but could be a decent #5 starter Jason Jennings - he can't be worse than he was last year can he? Bartolo Colon - health could make him too much of a risk, especially if he wants decent money
