SS Miguel Tejada. They are not reporting what we had to give up. Hopefully notyhing more than Scott, Burke, and some spare parts, but I doubt that would be enough. Thoughts?

1 year older than Everett...seems to be slightly on the way down as a hitter....fielding average only slightly below Everett...if nothing is wrong with him we definately improved....but what did we give up to get him?

Rumors are flying that it's Scott, Burke and Patton. If that's true, I am happy. I'd give them Everett instead of Patton though.

Its only being reported on 790AM and the Orioles Execs have left the winter meetings with no firm deal in place or announced.
Not sure what that means. 790 is saying no announcement today.
Might be that 790 is jumping the gun though.
I am ok with it but we need pitching also.

Rotoworld says:
Orioles president Andy MacPhail left Nashville on Thursday morning, suggesting that he wasn't close to sending Miguel Tejada to the Astros or Brian Roberts to the Cubs. It sounds as though Roberts to the Cubs is still a possibility, but we're guessing that the radio station reporting the Tejada-to-Houston rumor received some bad info. If the deal was that close to getting done, MacPhail would likely still be in Nashville. Source: ESPN.com

David Delatti is a dumbsh*t. If this came from him, forget it.

I hope it's Scott, Burke, and Wigginton. Play Tejada at third base.

I'm not sure if I like adding Patton to the deal but I doubt the deal would get done otherwise.
Should Tejada play short or third? I'd like to plug him in at third and persue other options at short, but I'm not sure there's anything out there worth doing.

Everett is the best defensive SS in the National League......leave him alone. He needs to stay right where he is. If Tejada is joining a lineup of Berkman, Lee, and Pence, we can afford a weak-hitting SS. I do hope we have not traded Patton.

I'm thinking this is all a rumor. No mention of this deal on ESPN, the Orioles website, Astros.com, or the Chronicle. Notice this thread was started by someone who has never posted here before. My guess is that this is all bullsh*t and no trade has been made.

They're reporting on several websites that this trade is in the works, NOT that it is done. It was, in fact, reported on 790AM.
I've read that the offer was supposedly Everett, Burke, and Patton. I'd make that trade for Tejada.

I hope this happens. Tejada is a damned good SS. Coach hit the nail on the head about David Delatti. If it is rumored he promotes it as fact. 790 sucks even worse than the old John and Lance show on 610. Granato thought just because he played HS football he knew everything. Well so did Al Bundy!
