Bagwell stunk the playoffs... no doubt about it. What Biggio has to do with this I dont know.
But to be fair... 1 reason Manny has more HR's is he has played in twice as many postseason games.
So lets add Berkman in there with 8 homers in 29 games. Average that out Berkman would have in 84 games about 20 homers. But Berkman wont play in as many postseason games more than likely.

Manny has 22 homers in 315 at bats in the playoffs...one for every 14.3 at bats...not too shabby.....Bagwell never played in a World series...which has no relavence to this conversation....but he didnt get a homer in every 14.3 at bats in the post season for sure

so let me guess..bagwell batted 1 time in 1 WS and he has as many HR's as manny...that in itself has got to be the best record ever..any guy who can hit 14 homeruns in one plate appearance is something special for sure..

Just trying to be like my Idol Vega. he manages to bring up Biggio in every freaking thread. It is curious that YOU never say a word to him. But Berkman has hit ALOT better in the playoffs than your boy Arod and has 1 more WS appearance. LOL
I think you will notice if you freaking read hembo that I said clearly that Bagwell stunk in the playoffs.

hembo, is funny that some people will TRY and COMPARE berkman to hall of fame or future hall of fame players. then again, those SAME people made a COMPARISON of Ensberg and Arod NOT LONG AGO. Then again, who really take into much CONSIDERATION what those people have to say in this forum, RIGHT? ?///

Lance berkman isnt the only guy in MLB history who has hit in post season, ab...This is what im getting at...chit, most of the AL pitchers hit better than arod in post season...i will say this..w'o arod the yankees wouldnt of even made it this far...unlike your man berkman...he was one of the biggest reasons why the astros sucked this year...if not the biggest
i find it odd to agree with both chandler and JB and its even more odd that its in the same paragraph...chandler said biggio should have played second as there was no other player comparable this year...thats true...burke is horsechit...its the one thing i cant agree with vega on..chris burke is horrible
jb said that lance berkman was one of the reasons if not the biggest reason this team sucked...his hitting .350(or whatever) the last three weeks of the season was pointless..where was he at around the all star break? YOUR guy was the biggest reason these guys sucked this year..

btw..i dont blame poopoou or garner.. this team depends on lance berkman and roy oswalt...oswlat was pretty good but berkman down right sucked this year..carlos lee is a good ballplayer but there are tons of 30 hr/100 rbi guys...big deal...the astros absolutely needed berkman and he didnt show. what he did was lose my respect for him with his cry baby half assed play...I have news for ya...if this wasnt a down year but rather a downturn in a career, he better come to spring training with a new attitude
guys like him can become a cancer in the clubhouse(ie wagner)

I dont disagree with you. I think Postseason stats are BS. The Astros dont win sh*t without Biggio and Bagwell. Doesnt make them any less great players. Same with Arod (no matter how much Vega lies about what I said) He is a great player and probably the best in MLB right now. But he stinks up the joint in the playoffs. I would rather make it to the playoffs with great players and lose than not make it at all.
Berkman isnt the biggest reason the Astros lost this season. The whole team was a mess. Pence not being here all year, the bullpen, the starters, defense, the manager etc etc ....But Berkman was the main reason. Baseball is a team game. 1 guy doesnt make that big a difference.
Vega.. you really should quit with the lying about what people say.

i take that back..the bullpen really sunk this team but lance was right up there..The pence thing was a joy to watch..The kid loves playing baseball and you can tell money and BS hasnt jaded him yet...I think he just really likes the game of baseball.....
berkman has hit his pinnacle and can only go down..i have zero doubt he will hit again but to what extent? i seriosuly doubt you will see 45 hr's 120 rbis again...
btw ..the pence thing didnt help much anyways..their season was over at all star break

also..i dont think pence was a one year wonder either..he will never have the power of berkman but a mold of grady sizemore with a .300 average would be great..i see him getting 20 -25 hr's 100 rbis 100 runs, .300 avg and about 30 + stolen bases...THATS a great catch....

We should have had Pence on the team on opening day starting in centerfield. Berkman sucked until the season was lost, and, after there was no pressure, Berkman came alive to pad his stats. (I wonder who taught him to pad stats when the pressure was off?)
