Hembo, Arod had a nice post season this year, it was Posada and Jeter the 2 that really sucked this time around.
Also, Wang was awful, he looked more like Woody than Wang this post season.
Pitiful that we STILL have Woody for next year.

Arod had a nice postseason? Not hardly. He was better than Jeter or Posada but he was awful. It is his job to drive in the runs, he didnt do it. He was 4-15 with 6 K's. 3 singles and 1 meaningless homer. I think it is funny how you give Arod a nice postseason grade, but if Biggio or Bagwell or Berkman played like this you would be ready for them to retire. Vega, this is why you have NO credibility on your judging of players. You play favorites for whatever reason.

If Woody is still on the team next year it is proof that we don't want to win. If we won't eat his $6million plus deal to get rid of him, we are satisfied with losing. Surely, we can work out something to keep this guy off our pitching staff next season.
Wang looked like a scared duck out there tonight. Byrd came up big for the Indians.

Hembo, agree, not great but NOT BAD EITHER.
The average was below average, .260 but i believe he took 2 walks meaning, his OBP was over .400 if not mistaken, plus had a homer in 4 games.
So, Arod is not the one to blame, it was Posada and Jeter (especially this guy who hit for 3 double plays in last 2 games).
So Hembo, i think i will disagree with you on this one.

Arod's OBP wasnt anywhere near .400 let alone over it. It was .357. His SLG% was .467, his average was .267. He K'd 6 times in 15 at bats. He had 1 RBI, just 1. He got that on his solo homer. He also had 6 LOB.
That may be a good series for you Vega... but it isnt. Arod didnt play well. He wasnt the worse player on the team, but he was bad at the plate and there is no way you can spin it. You will try, but it doesnt matter. The truth is what it is.

That's because Biggio was never half the player A-Rod is today. But really, who cares as long as the Yanks are NOT in the ALCS or going to the WS.
GO TRIBE!

Oh... now its his OPS for only 4 games? LOL... when you find out his OBP isnt " over .400" then you go to OPS. LMAO
AROD is the workhorse and he had 1 RBI. He left 6 on base and K'd 6 times. He stunk. Hell, he didnt even have a hit in the 1st 2 games. How on earth can he have a " nice series" when he only had hits in 2 of the 4 games? Vega... you are a tool.

aGAIN, .357 OBP is NOT BAD.
Would you be kind enough and tell me when was the last time Biggio had that kind of OBP.
Your knowledge of baseball is POOR if you say a .357 OBP or a .824 OPS is bad, FOR 1 GAME, 2 GAME, 4 GAME OR 162. Sorry, but thats the truth.

ARod didn't have a bad series. It wasn't great or 'legendary', but it wasn't bad, either.

Agreed Chandler, I A Rod shed his post season blues, now hopefully he'll find a REAL team to play for instead of wasting his time playing for The rent-a-star Yanks. I hear many players are going to jump ship once Torre is given his walking papers.

We can only hope. This is pretty much an example of what happens when you put that many egos in one clubhouse. Shame the Astros didn't wait until the end of the season to name a new manager. McLame just does not have any patience.

I don't know that Torre would have been the guy to go with. Does he have much of a track record of success with young teams?

I don't see Torre winning in Houston.
I think Cooper will do good.
I also like the Romero move at third.
I also like our new bench coach.
And i also like that Purp, Garner and Biggio are not with us next year.
